INVESTIGATIONS into the horrific Eight Mile intersection accident, which claimed two young lives last month on 12 August, are ongoing, according to Transport and Main Roads.
A TMR spokesperson said an investigation into the cause of the accident was being carried out with guidance from the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
The Free Times asked TMR whether it would consider alterations to improve the intersection or address safety concerns.
“All outcomes from the TMR site investigation and QPS consultation will be considered and further actions taken as appropriate,” the spokesperson said.
The TMP spokesperson revealed that there is no Federal funding commitment to further planning activities or significant alterations at the Eight Mile intersection.
A spokewoman for QPS said investigations were continuing into the deaths of two people killed at Eight Mile intersection but would not provide any further details.
