‘Temporary interruptions’ expected

Southern Downs Regional Council is upgrading water main infrastructure along Albion Street in Warwick.

A spokeswoman said the work involves the replacement of valves within the CBD and along Albion Street from Wood Street to Alice Street.

“The works are a part of Council’s wider commitment to upgrading and managing assets and the ongoing provision of quality water for the region,” the spokeswoman said.

The night works began last night, Sunday 17 June and will continue until tomorrow night, Tuesday 19 June.

“Warwick residents around the CBD may experience temporary interruptions to the water supply in the form of reduced pressure or no flow,” the spokeswoman said.

“These works require night time lane closures on Albion St between Wood Street and Alice Streets.

“Traffic management and detours will be in place to ensure motorists can travel safely and efficiently around the work sites.

Council will contact residents and businesses directly impacted by the works and thanks residents for their co-operation during this period.
