IT is that time of year again when the Tenterfield Lions Club is gearing up for their annual Cracker Night on Saturday 7 June.
The event will be held at Tenterfield Showground from 3.30pm and carnival entertainment and live music, a huge bonfire culminating in choreographed pyrotechnics from 7.30pm.
Organiser Rod Stanford said the event was a chance to turn back the clock to the old-fashioned “cracker nights” that many of us enjoyed as kids (only a lot safer).
“The concept of Cracker Night was borne out of a desire to raise the profile of our club in Tenterfield with a signature event that would put the Tenterfield Lions Club name up in lights,” he said.
“Not only did club members engage enthusiastically, the town of Tenterfield did as well with around 1300 coming through the gates to enjoy a happy community and family-oriented event. “
