Boots hold key to murder probe

DETECTIVES from the Darling Downs District and Homicide Investigation Unit are continuing their investigations into the death of 24-year-old Goondiwindi woman Alexis Jeffery.
Police are trying to locate a pair of grey and black reef style boots they believe are relevant and will assist with investigations into the murder of Ms Jeffery.
The boots in question, also commonly known as irrigation boots, are made from wetsuit type material.
Police have released an image and description of boots they believe are similar in appearance to boots they are trying to locate.
Police consider these boots may have been discarded or disposed of somewhere in the Goondiwindi area around the time of Ms Jeffery’s death.
The body of Ms Jeffery was discovered on the banks of the McIntyre River on the morning of 16 March this year.
