THE new Warwick Youth Space in Leslie Park will be given a rocking welcome tomorrow, 7 February.
DJ Modify, MC CY, Ben Vellacott and DJ Thrump will make sure it’s an upbeat start to the new area from 5pm to 8pm.
The project includes a covered entertainment stage, amphitheatre, new footpath area, landscaping and seating and an access ramp to the back of stage.
Youth development officer Hailey Cosh said the much-anticipated launch would be an ideal time for young people and families to come and see the new amphitheatre and various uses for the new space.
“Council wants the youth space to give the youth of the SDRC an area where they can drop in and play music as well as a stage area to perform for small concerts,” she said.
“The new area can be used in conjunction with portable staging and will increase the area and the amount of people using the space.
“Council involved local high school students in the design of the space so we hope everyone feels this will be a valuable community asset.”
Ms Cosh said encouraged everyone to attend Friday night’s launch – anyone wanting more information can call the Southern Downs Youth Service on 4661 7166.
