Festival review

STANTHORPE’S famed Apple and Grape festival will be reviewed with the aim of including the Granite Belt region’s modern food and wine industries.
The festival began in 1956 and was originally known as the Apple Blossom Festival, said Sarah Reeves of Granite Belt Wine and Tourism, who will undertake marketing of the bi-annual festival.
Ms Reeves said the review could entail a name change to stress the food and wine now being produced.
She said the review would involve extensive public consultation.
