WHAT would a Warwick Christmas be without Carols in the Park?
Residents are being reminded to set aside Sunday, 15 December for the city’s 2013 event.
Songbird Lyn Bowtell will headline, along with Santa, of course.
“Carols in the Park is simply a beautiful and relaxed family night where we can celebrate Christmas and the blessing of living in a great community,” Warwick Tourism and Events CEO
Tracy Vellacott said.
A two-and-a-half hour program of traditional and contemporary carols will be presented by crowd favourites and up-and-coming performers, with pre-stage entertainment to kick off at 5.30pm. This will be followed by Santa’s arrival at 6pm.
Ms Bowtell is excited to be the special guest in the 2013 carols line-up.
A singer-songwriter regarded by her peers as one of the best in the business, she has a voice described as “defying gravity”.
“Music has always been my great escape and performing live my greatest pleasure,” she said.
“I can’t imagine what my life would be like without the gift of being able to express myself in this way.”
Ms Bowtell is a 2013 APRA Song of The Year finalist, two-time Golden Guitar winner, MO Award winner, Toyota Star Maker winner, and was nominated for two Golden Guitars in the 2013 Country Music Awards for Best Female Artist and Best Alternative Album of the year.
She has a new album ‘Heart of Sorrow’ and is currently touring nationally as guest artist for country music star Beccy Cole.
Organisers suggest patrons bring chairs and picnic rugs to Leslie Park to welcome the festive season.
