FIDDLER on the Roof will continue the School of Total Education’s tradition of quality drama, music and dance, said co-director Rhonda Mattarollo.
The school has a history of presenting quality musicals, having already presented Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Hot Mikado, and The Wiz.
Fiddler on the Roof is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905, and the story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives.
He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters – each one’s choice of husband moves further away from the customs of his faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
Thirty students are in the production, directed by Michael Funder, Colin Alley, and Ronda Mattarollo.
“The students have been working very hard over the last couple of months, and can’t wait to show you their growth in the quality performers they have become,” Mrs Mattarollo said.
Tickets are available now at the school office, or by phoning 4661 2666. Due to demand, the musical will be held over three nights – Thursday 17th, Friday 18th, and Saturday 19th October 2013.
Tickets will also be available at the door at 2 Freestone Road Warwick (cash only).
