Driver charged

Police Reports

A 25-YEAR-OLD Stanthorpe man, who refused to pull over for police in an allegedly stolen Nissan Skyline, will face a string of charges this month.
The incident occurred on Wallangarra Road at about 9.30am on Thursday, 5 September.
Police said they attempted to intercept the Nissan Skyline sedan when the driver refused to stop. The vehicle was later located behind a residence in Gla-nor Drive and the offender tracked down and charged.
Investigations are continuing after the vehicle was later found to have been stolen from the Brisbane area a few days prior.
Stanthorpe Police said the man was charged with evading police, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and driving a vehicle with false registration plates. He is expected to face the Stanthorpe Magistrates’ Court this month, with investigations continuing into the allegedly stolen vehicle.

Drugs seized
A DRUG bust was carried out on a home in Matthew Street last Thursday, 5 September.
Police used a warrant to enter the home and a 32-year-old man was subsequently charged with two drug offences after a quantity of cannabis and a smoking utensil were found in the unit.
The man is expected to front court later this month.

Pub scuffle
STANTHORPE Police stepped in to break up a scuffle outside a licensed premise at about 2.10am on Sunday, 8 September.
Police were present at closing time at a pub in Victoria Street when an altercation between two men broke out.
A 24-year-old was charged with committing a public nuisance offence, while the second man, 26, was given an official move-on direction.
At 2.20am the same man returned to the hotel and was charged with disobeying a police move-on direction. Both men will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates’ Court in October.

Trailer stolen
POLICE are investigating the theft of a box trailer from a property on Texas Road, Broadwater.
Police said the offenders had gained access to the unattended property sometime between 1 September and 4 September.
It is believed the offenders accessed the yard by cutting a padlock on the front gate before stealing the box trailer bearing Queensland registration 572 QLR.
Police said this theft served as a warning to other residents to lock up their properties and vehicles and work more closely with neighbours and police to stamp out crime.
Anybody with information regarding the trailer theft or any other offence are requested to contact Stanthorpe Police.
