Due to the weather conditions over the past week, it was no surprise that there were plenty of sporting cancellations across the region.

In Warwick both senior and junior cricket was cancelled. The senior fixtures have been transferred to 27 November (Rep round)

Likewise, in Stanthorpe Junior and senior cricket matches were called off with grounds unplayable.

It was particularly disappointing for the senior players as Saturday was to be the start of the two-day games which are a new feature this season.

The grand final of the 20/20 comp between Valleys and Wanderers was also rescheduled for the second time.

This game will now be played on Friday 19 November.

Other sport impacted by the weather were the Croquet games in Stanthorpe and Warwick.

The weather also forced the postponement of the Free Junior clinic which was to be run by the Brisbane based Wanderers Club.

While the Wanderers are welk-known in Senior Cricket circles, there may be those involved in the juniors who are not aware of the club.

The Wanderers Cricket Club is a charity-based Qld club that regularly tours different areas of country Qld holding senior cricket games against local sides. They also run coaching clinics for juniors at each town where they play. For several years now one or two Warwick players have been selected to tour with the Wanderers.

The special FREE OF CHARGE kids clinic that was cancelled last weekend will now be held on Friday 26 November at Slade Park from 3:30-6:30pm and will include skills sessions and tuition from qualified cricket coaches.

Players (both boys and girls) of all ages and abilities are very welcome.
