The NRL premiership has been run and won with the Penrith Panthers finishing just two points ahead of the South Sydney Rabbitohs for an historic victory at Suncorp Stadium.
It wraps up one of the stranger NRL seasons – kept alive by a move north here to Queensland. It must have made tipping a bit of a nightmare or maybe more exciting.
Out competition came to an exciting end with two businesses finishing on 154 points after the home and away season.
For the the second year in a row Elite Holiday Homes on the Gold Coast have generously sponsored the Warwick/Stanthorpe Today Tipping competition providing a holiday for the successful business and supporting through the whole season.
However with this year the competition uniquely finishing in a draw Noosa River River Retreat stepped in at the end to provide a second prize.
So we have two winners, with Ballandean Tavern and Condamine Sports Club both finishing the season with 154 points each.
Condamine were in the top two for most of the year with Ballandean Tavern made a strong gallop to the finish line (backing the Bronco’s against the odds in the final round to secure the prize).
Ballandean received the holiday with Elite homes on the Gold Coast and Condamine wins the holiday with Noosa River. Both are three-night packages.
The nearest points were Action Metal Recyclers and Stanthorpe Septic Services both on 151.
