Physie success

Fifteen members of the Granite Belt YMCA Physie Club were amongst 400 competitors who took part in the Woy Woy Recreational Physical Culture club annual interclub competition on Sunday, August 26 on the NSW Central Coast.
The club found the competition to be extremely strong but also one of the friendliest they have been to, with clubs from Berowra, Dubbo, Macquarie Links, Mt Osley, North Ryde, St Clair, Upper Hunter, Warners Bay and Woy Woy attending.
The club was lucky enough to bring home two 1st places Hannah Phelps and Natasha Brierley, 2nd place Stacey Hayne, 3rd place Rachel Sanders, two 4th places Abby Phelps and Jennah Haddock, 5th place Kimberley Buckman and 6th place Jessica Brierley. Nicole Donnelly, Sophie Halliday, Chelsea Parker, Emma Anderson, Jessica Cowin, Bronwyn Brierley and Nikki Phelps also represented the club. Teachers Rachel Sanders and Kimberley Buckman were so proud of all of the competitors for holding their own in such a high standard of competition. All members are really looking forward to travelling away together again to compete at their zone competition in Coffs Harbour where the club has over 40 members competing at the junior and senior weekend. The club is particularly excited to be putting 5 teams on the floor in their first year of operation. All of the Girls and Ladies are thrilled to be part of these teams.
The Granite Belt YMCA club is now preparing for their Club Display Comp Spectacular to be held on Saturday, September 15, 12.30-4pm at the School Of Arts Theatre, Rouse St Tenterfield. The club will have over 60 girls taking to the stage over the 3hrs. The public is most welcome to come along and watch the girls perform this year’s syllabus. Cost is $5 per adult, which includes a program.
