Stanthorpe swimming success

The Stanthorpe State School annual swimming carnival for Years 4 to 7 and their ‘Fun in the Sun’ Swimming Event for Prep to year 3 students was a tremendous success with students, teachers and even some parents taking to the pool, keen to swim their very best and dressed to impress.
There were some very energetic performances from years 4 to 7, with many giving their all in a range of gruelling strokes to come out on top.
All students participated with great enthusiasm, generating well deserved points for their sporting houses.
And the school’s younger children, from Prep to year 3, thoroughly enjoyed the great array of fun antics, water games and races as well as awesome novelty events in which they all had the chance to take part.
The final points tally for the school’s sporting houses, as a result of the many outstanding performances in the pool, were Koel 436, Kingfisher 491, Kookaburra 509, Kestrel 651.
And walking away with the proud achievement of age champions from this year’s Stanthorpe State School Swimming Carnival were for the boys: nine years, Daniel McMeniman; 10 years Alun Lewis; 11 years Martin Dachs; 12 years Jack Draheim; 13 years Sean Colbran; and for the girls: nine years Patrice Highes; 10 years Macy Patti; 11 years Kayla Campbell; 12 years Hayley Sands and 13 years Ellie Lewis.
