Presentations to the club champions, Calvin Grogan, Peter Zannes and Rupert Smith were held on Saturday morning following the presentation of the Monthly Mug. The May Mug was won by Richard Ainsworth with 73 off the stick for a 64 nett from Henry Kelly on 65 nett. The ball run down went to Glen Caisley 66, Calvin Grogan 66, Ben Austin 66, Ted Tyacke 67, Ashley Harrison 68 and Anthony Wyndham on 69. Pin shots went to Mike Cusack, Henry Kelly and Barry Honan, the putts with 26 to Richard Ainsworth.
The Sunday Medley was won on a countback by Susan Allison from Stanthorpe (40 points) ahead of Brian Curry, Calvin Grogan and Peter Aitkins, a visitor from Byron Bay. The ball run down went to 39 points, the winners Neil Gale, Tony Murphy and Ben Austin. The sharp shooters were Isabelle Pinon from Byron Bay and Neil Gale.
This week Tenterfield have a full field of 190 players for four days in the Veteran Week of Golf. Saturday is a 4BBB qualifying round for the Sureshot NSW for men – trophies from Mike Williams and Scotty Rossington. Sunday the Mixed Foursome Championships over 27 holes will be played. First hit off 10.30am. A time sheet is located in the club house.
