Plenty for the kids at the library

There's plenty for the kids to do at SDRC libraries.

There’s plenty for the kids to do at Southern Downs Regional Council libraries.

Little ones aged 0 to 5 years old can attend Storytime weekly. They’ll be entertained by stories, songs, rhymes, and a take-home craft pack.

Storytime is available at:

• Stanthorpe Library every Tuesday at 10.30 am

• Warwick Library every Wednesday at 10.30 am

After school, you can entertain the kids by taking them to Turing Tumbles, a coding marble drop challenge. Players aged 8 and up can build mechanical computers powered by marbles to solve logic puzzles.

Turing Tumbles will be held on Monday 13 June and 27 June.

During the school holidays, there is plenty on offer at the library.

A Harry Potter treasure hunt will be held at Warwick, Stanthorpe, and Allora libraries.

Kids are encouraged to find the images hidden around the library (never on a book but sometimes in some tricky little spots), and write the codes from each picture and their details onto an entry form to go into the draw for some wonderful book prizes.

There will also be take-home craft packs available in all branches.

Kids can also complete a Fantastic Beasts quiz to go into the draw for an Illustrated Harry Potter book.

As always, the libraries have plenty of digital resources that kids and adults alike can enjoy.

Anyone with a library account can borrow eBooks and eAudio via Libby and BorrowBox platforms.

Locals can also borrow a Story Box Library, where stories by local authors and illustrators are read aloud by fantastic Australian and New Zealand storytellers.

You can access LOTE online for kids, National Geographic Kids, and Kinderling kids radio through the library.
