The 2022 Bendigo Bank Stanthorpe Show is coming to town

The Stanthorpe Show will roll into town on 23 and 24 April, after being postponed earlier this year.

Patrons will notice a different ‘feel’ to an autumn show but it will still feature most of what the district to proud to showcase.

The fruit and vegetable exhibits will feature different seasonal fruits but include the pyramid walls of apples. Prime cattle will be on display on Saturday, and of course, in the Peter Bondfield main arena there will be show jumping and a full hack programme.

In the Peter Bonner Exhibition Centre, you will find photography, cookery, jams and jellies, as well as fashion parades at 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturday. There will also be Jason Gray Magicians and the Balancing Man will do performances and workshops for children.

There will be many exhibits acknowledging the 150th Stanthorpe Sesquicentennial – a scale model of a working tin mine. The Saturday afternoon fashion parades will also be featuring fashions of an earlier time.

The show will have something for everyone to enjoy; you can visit The Tea Pavilion to view or purchase fine art and pottery entries. The Showmen’s Guild will have a great variety of rides and attractions on the way to the Sheep and Wool Pavilion. Attendees young and old will find rides to enjoy.

The wool section will be of interest to many as will the ‘ingenious sheep section’. The brainchild of Annie Mitchel, each ‘sheep’ must be life-sized, in 3D, and reflect the class in which they are entered. Many whimsical and inventive designs will be seen. There will be a shearing demonstration on Saturday afternoon.

Talk a walk around the grounds there are sheepdog trials, wine, beer and Italian preserves, as well as poultry and much much more.

With music and entertainment on Saturday night, locals are sure to have a blast at the Stanthorpe Show on 23 and 24 April.
