A Beaudesert teenage girl tested positive for Covid-19 and spent “a couple days” in Warwick, it was announced earlier today.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk stated Queensland Health is “not as concerned about” this case.

The young woman in her teens from Beaudesert is a close contact of a confirmed case from the Moree cluster.

The Premier stated she was tested in home quarantine and spent “a couple of days” infectious in the community in Warwick and half a day infectious in Beaudesert.

It is unclear if the close contact was the case announced yesterday.

Acting Chief Health Officer, Dr Peter Aitken, said the teenager went into quarantine yesterday as a result of being a close contact and has subsequently tested positive.

The Premier stressed that if anyone in Beaudesert and Warwick has any concerns they should come forward and get tested.

There have reportedly been 8943 tests administered in the past 24 hours

80.1 per cent of Queenslanders have had their first dose, with 68.31 per cent fully vaccinated.

A second newly acquired case on the Gold Coast is a man in his 50s who Queensland Health is currently unable to link to an existing case.

He spent three days in the community while potentially infectious, working as an Uber driver.

Covid-19 testing is available at a drive-through testing site at the Warwick Showground until 4 pm today.

The testing site will re-open at 8 am tomorrow morning, and these hours will remain until further notice.

Darling Downs Health has stressed the importance of anyone who has been to an exposure site getting tested.

Darling Downs Health is also kindly asking people to limit visits to the Warwick Hospital and The Oaks Retirement Village at this time.

There are two contact tracing alerts for Warwick.

Currently, there are two contact tracing alerts for Warwick: Tuesday 2 November, 1 pm to 2 pm, Condamine Sports Club and Wednesday 3 November, 8.40 pm to 9.10 pm, Warwick RSL.

No new exposure sites have been announced associated with the second case.

A casual contact means those at the exposure site should get tested at their earliest opportunity, return home and quarantine until they receive a negative result.
