Our trip to Brisbane to see the QSO

Jeremy and his mum, Belinda.

By Jeremy Lister, Age 10

On Saturday Mum and I left in the ute to Brisbane to see a QSO (Queensland Symphony Orchestra) concert at three o’clock on Saturday.

When we got to Brisbane it was about twelve o’clock. We parked Dad’s ute at Parliament and brought all our stuff up to Dad’s room.

Since we had a lot of time to spare we decided to walk to the Queen Street Mall where we went to a few shops and got some Krispy Kreme doughnuts (which was the first time I’ve tried them) and two books from Dymocks for me.

At the moment my favourite author is James Holland and I’m reading Normandy ’44.

Once we got back to parliament we got dressed up and caught a taxi to the concert which was at QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) and was called Beethoven and Sibelius.

The concert was absolutely fantastic.

We sat in the front row near the viola section.

The concert began with a piece by Wagner, then the Sibelius violin concerto and finally Beethoven Symphony No. 7.

My favourite was the Allegretto from the Beethoven Symphony.

After the concert we had dinner at River Quay Fish and went through the 2022 program to decide which concerts we would like to attend.

They all look good but I want to see the Four Seasons and Heroes and Revolutionaries concerts.

Mum said it was a great program because it has a viola player on the front cover.

In the morning we went to Orion (Springfield central) and had breakfast at the coffee club and also got Mums new kayak.

After that we went home.
