Iconic Warwick Rodeo Street Parade returns

Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC) is calling on local businesses and community organisations to be part of Warwick’s iconic annual street parade.

Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC) is calling on local businesses and community organisations to be part of Warwick’s iconic annual street parade by entering a float or even a decorated bicycle or two, promising big cash prizes are up for grabs.

The iconic parade will take place on Saturday 30 October from 9am.

As iconic as the world renowned Warwick Rodeo and Campdraft, the 2021 Warwick Rodeo Street Parade promises some exciting new inclusions guaranteed to make this the ‘must-do’ family-friendly event on the October calendar.

Southern Downs Councillor Marco Gliori said that this year’s parade theme of ‘Past, Present and Future’ will reflect and celebrate the essence of the community’s rich history and future.

“The parade has a distinguished history as part of the Warwick Rodeo and is an event that our community continues to enjoy today,” Councillor Gliori said.

“In 2021, we want to encourage participation, creativity and enthusiasm for the anticipated return of the parade through who we are, where we’ve come from and where we’re heading.

“We will no doubt once again be welcoming visitors from all over South East Queensland in addition to our regular rodeo families that make Warwick home during the event.

“We want this to be the biggest parade yet so let’s get creative and show the world why Southern Downs is a great place to live, work, play and stay.”

Local community groups, businesses, schools and charities are all encouraged to get involved by contacting Council’s Economic Development and Tourism team at edu@sdrc.qld.gov.au or 1300 697 372.

Nomination forms are available at www.sdrc.qld.gov.au and the Warwick Administration Building at 64 Fitzroy Street.

Entrance fee for floats is $10.
