Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) says a bushfire in the Nundubbermere area south-west of Stanthorpe is not currently threatening any properties but rural fire crews are monitoring the situation and containment lines.

Water-bombing aircraft as well as fire crews on the ground have been working on the fire over the last 24 hours.

There is a report of a tree having fallen on a Rural Fire Service vehicle earlier today, Monday 30 November, but there is no report of any injuries to any crew member. The bushfire is in the vicinity of Winkler Road with smoke affecting surrounding areas including Somme and Ballandean.

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe your property is under threat.

No fire bans have been issued as yet for the Southern Downs and Granite Belt regions but extremely hot and dry conditions are forecast to continue all week with a continued extreme fire risk.
