Bushfire ‘no threat to property’

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crew is on scene at a bushfire burning near Sunday Plains Road, Grayson Road and Condamine River Road at Mount Colliery east of Warwick.

The fire has been burning in the largely inaccessible stretch of country since Thursday.

A QFES update issued earlier today, Sunday 5 August, says firefighters are backburning to strengthen containment lines around the fire.

“There is no threat to property at this time,” the update said.

“Smoke is affecting the surrounding areas.

“Residents are advised to close windows and doors and keep medications close by if suffering from a respiratory condition.

“Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.

“If you feel your property is under threat, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.”
