Organisers of Queensland’s premier winter festival are urging people to attend this weekend’s events as planned.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe will go ahead from Friday 2 July to Sunday 4 July, with only a “slightly altered” program due to the lockdowns announced yesterday for parts of Queensland.

“We will have plenty of snow, a huge iceskating rink, and there will be plenty of igloos and snow volcanoes to be made,” organisers said in a statement.

Snowflakes organisers said the festival has a Covid-safe plan that has been approved by Queensland Health.

“We will be relying on our visitors to remain physically distant from people who are not in your household or social groups, and to wear masks if directed by Queensland Health,” organisers said.

“Please keep up to date with the Queensland Health directives to work out what directives apply to you and your situation.”

Tickets for the event will be available at the gates, or can be purchased online at www.snowflakesinstanthorpe.com.au.
